Kevin L. Kahkola
Born:Kevin Lee Kahkola 8/12/68 in Livonia, Michigan.
Married: Wife *Jennifer, daughter Kirsten, and son Brandon.
Experience: Kevin began working with horses in 1987 at the Detroit Race Course in Livonia Michigan. With DRC floundering, Kevin left home in 1993 for Camden, South Carolina, to begin what would be a very long, prosperous relationship with trainer Neil Howard and owner W.S.Farish.
*Served under the Sandera Farms of J.V.Sanders in Michigan, while wintering in Florida (Calder, Gulfstream Park) under trainer Greg Sanders (son of J.V.Sanders).
*Has worked with yearlings and two year olds since 1993.
*14 years with trainer Neil J.Howard (W.S.Farish).
Jennifer Kahkola
* Jennifer is an exercise rider and a very important part of the Kahkola Racing operation. Jennifer galloped and breezed horses for Trainer Neil Howard for 8 years (including Midway Road, Grasshopper, Brilliant, and Secret Status). She began her racing career in Camden with Shadwell Stables in '97, and has an extensive background in showhorses since childhood.
Accomplishments
*Aided in the development of such horses as Mineshaft, Secret Status, Tomisue’s Delight, Grasshopper, Runupthecolors, Midway Road, Brilliant, Student Council, Comic Strip, Parade Ground, and many more Graded Stakes winners.
